The Bridge Extends Heartfelt Thanks for Donations of Client Packs

The Bridge (East Midlands), a local charity dedicated to preventing and relieving homelessness, is celebrating the generosity of local businesses and charities as they receive donations of Winter and Starter Packs for local people in need.

Forty Winter Packs, donated by Shrimad Ranchandra Mission Dharampur, including essential items such as blankets, gloves, and hats, will be distributed to rough sleepers across the region, providing much-needed warmth and comfort during the harsh winter months.

Through The Bridge’s Rough Sleeper Outreach team, community checks take place multiple mornings per week, in locations across the county but also in response to locations pinpointed via Streetlink; members of the public can refer rough sleepers for help by inputting their location on the app or website.

“This incredible act of kindness couldn’t have come at a better time,” said Nash Chhatralia, CEO at The Bridge.

“As temperatures drop, the challenges faced by rough sleepers increase dramatically, and it can be fatal. Thanks to the support of Shrimad Ranchandra Mission Dharampur, we can bring practical aid and a sense of care to those who need it most, as we support them towards housing security.”

Longer-term, individuals and households moving into new accommodation with no belongings of their own can now receive one of The Bridge’s Starter Packs; kindly funded by donations from the Hobson Charity Trust and Pukka Pies.

These Starter Packs provide household essentials such as duvets, bedding, cooking equipment, a towel, a toaster and kettle, as well as crockery and cutlery. With necessities covered, The Bridge can continue to support clients in creating long-term and positive home environments – improving general well-being, mental health and stability.

“The support of The Hobson Charity and the team at Pukka Pies really opens up possibilities for our clients to create happy and comfortable homes, so that they can focus on settling into a brighter future away from housing instability.” Said Jessica Metson, Business Development & Fundraising Manager at The Bridge.

“It’s a perfect example of house donations can make an immediate and tangible difference for local people.”

The Bridge (East Midlands) remains committed to addressing homelessness through holistic support, including outreach services, housing advice, and emergency assistance. Donations like these make a tangible difference in ensuring vulnerable individuals feel supported and seen.
